<CENTER>Pennsylvania Cherry</CENTER>
Pennsylvania Cherry

Chest of Drawers fashioned from Pennsylvania cherrywood and eastern white ash. The cherrywood was from a tree cut down 25 to 30 years previously, on the family farm in western Pennsylvania, and stored overhead in a garage. It currently resides in Oregon. Full suspension drawer slides are employed; the pulls are brass, cast in a traditional heart pattern. Both the drawer faces and the top are laminated of multiple strips of ash with cherry feature strips.

Wood and Iron

An Occasional Table, the top fashioned of white oak strips, with walnut used as feature strips. The center walnut strip tapers at both ends, lending a graceful shape to the overall pattern. The scrollwork is of round bar, forged and formed to occupy the spaces formed by the legs. The variations on this theme are endless.

<CENTER>White Oak Table</CENTER>
White Oak Table

Dining Room Table constructed of white oak with purpleheart feature strips. The order was for a table built more sturdily than could be regularly obtained. Consequently, the top is 1-1/8 inches thick, and the rest is built accordingly stout. Closed, the overall dimensions are 36 inches x 42 inches; with the two 18 inch leaves, 72 inches x 42 inches. The leaves have skirts to match the table proper, and a separate crate was built to store them in a suitable closet. This piece now resides in Alabama.

Forged Iron

A Small Lamp of forged iron. The base was formed from a piece of 1/8 inch plate. The stem is of square tubing; twisted, reverse twisted, twisted again. A piece of small iron pipe is placed inside the square tubing to prevent it's collapse while twisting. The work is done hot. The shade holder arms are likewise forged. The assembled piece was then patinated and lacquered. A suitable shade, and a tassel for the pullchain switch makes it complete.
