Some House Hardware will always be hard to find. Ten years ago hardly anyone offered Arts & Crafts house hardware; now it is easily found. Still, some Victorian house hardware is not widely available.
We offer a few hard-to-find articles on this website; others will be added as time allows.
At the right, we show our Cast Victorian Handrail brackets with a piece of our 3-5/8" Ogee railing in Genuine Mahogany, a sample. We stock the rail in Old Growth Douglas Fir, in 20' lengths, and in Ash, in 14' & 16' lengths. Please let us know if you need some of the rail; freight may be problematic for longer lengths if you can't pick them up at our facility. We will cut to specified lengths, but please allow extra for final cuts and trims.
Cost of the rail is $7.25 per foot plus shipping.

Cast Iron Victorian Handrail Brackets

Cast Iron Victorian Handrail Bracket, complete package with cast rail strap and all necessary mounting screws.
These are cast in a local foundry from our patterns, taken from an authentic Victorian original. They have the same wall-to-center-of-rail dimension as today's standard, 2-3/4".
The screws are steel, with slotted oval heads. For mounting to the wall, we supply three #12 x 2"; and to the rail, two #12 x 3/4".
The bracket, strap, and all the screws have had a clear powder coat applied for rust resistance; however, these are intended for interior application.
The image shows some reddish highlights; however, the pieces are not in the least rusty. The effect is from the lighting for the picture.
When ordering, please allow enough brackets to strongly support your railings. Rule of thumb is spacing no more than 4 feet apart; every other stud on 24" centers, and every third stud on 16" centers. Cost: $49.95 each plus shipping. We do take advantage of USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes for packages over 2 pounds.

Cast Bronze Victorian Handrail Brackets

These are cast in a (different) local foundry from our patterns, taken from an authentic Victorian original. They have the same wall-to-center-of-rail dimension as today's standard, 2-3/4".
The screws are silicon bronze, with slotted oval heads. For mounting to the wall, we supply three #12 x 2"; and to the rail, two #12 x 3/4".
The bracket, strap, and all the screws have no coating applied, and a handsome patina will deepen with time.
